Reports for recurring programs
Since implementing Submittable in mid-2022 we have been running three funds. One is a simple restricted fund that has one recipient. The second is our discretionary grants program which we enter into Submittable ourselves. The third is our main program which has two cycles each year which we call Spring General and Fall General. To keep them separate, we run them as individual programs such as “2024 Restricted”, “2024 Discretionary”, "Spring 2024 General," and “Fall 2024 General.” We reuse the same forms each year as well as reusing the General form for both Spring and Fall each year.
The problem is that reports are tied to programs. So even though the forms have the same fields each year, none of the standard nor advanced reports can be applied to the subsequent year's programs. So we wind up having to recreate all our reports each year. We know about the merged fields, but that is even more work. Also, none of the reports can span more than one year.
So how are YOU handling things?

Ward thanks for getting this conversation going! I asked our excellent implementation team to weigh in and they will workshop it next week. I will follow up!

hi Ward Caswell ,
we too manage multiple programs over multiple years using different projects in Submittable. it would be a dream if we didn't have to recreate reports. instead, we export our reports from Submittable and import them into a Google Data Studio to have our reporting dashboard where we can filter the results by dates/programs and a variety of other filters. this dashboard is also shareable with other stakeholders so they can filter to get data that they would like to see without them actually having any access to our raw data.
